Network Engineer – Storage USA, Inc. - December 1998 – August 1999

As Network Engineer I maintained a many NT servers, four Server Exchange servers, three SQL server, one Terminal server, one Winframe server, three IIS servers, two MS-proxy servers and other NT file servers. We used VSAT to connect 500 facilities and Frame relay to connect over 200 users in our corporate and division offices. I helped maintain the Lucent phone system. I developed a software distribution system of both Mcafee's Zac and Starburst's Omicast for over 700 machines. I administered multicasting software (Omnicast) to push and pull files from our facilities connected over VSAT. I administered Network Associates software audit, inventory and help desk software. I Installed a webcam showing the progress of the new corporate building with an unused pc and a $100 camera. I kept current with the newest Microsoft office, server and workstation beta software. I used a 3Com Palm Pilot over the Internet to synchronize my mail. I installed and supported Norton Anti-virus and Mcafee (NAI) virus scanner software and dat file updates company wide. We sustained no downtime with the Melissa virus. I designed silent installs for Mcafee virus scanner and the Omincast client. I received Cisco router training to configure Cisco routes in division offices. I worked with Bay switches and 3com hubs. I supported Intel 10/100 and 3com 10/100 Ethernet Cards on Dell and Compaq servers and desktops. I supported 3com and Xircom 10/100 Ethernet card on Toshiba laptops. I administered the DNS servers and used Proxy client to locate the mail servers and a web server behind the Proxy servers. Users had access to email through POP, IMAP over the Internet and Exchange mail through PPTP and Ras connections.
